Introducing JB (John)

John is an accomplished Guitarist, Vocalist and Keyboard player who performs under the stage name JB. He loves to perform all the classic hits from the 60's to the present day including The Beatles; CCR, Queen; Bryan Adams; Dire Straits; Deep Purple; Elvis Presley; ZZ Top; Elton John and lots John Bedggoodmore with some great Blues and Rock and Roll songs thrown in for good measure.

John is a fully professional, versatile, performer who covers a wide range of music suitable for all venues and functions. He has been involved in the music and entertainment industry since his school days. His passion and lifelong love of music shines brightly whenever he performs.

As an entertainer John  has enjoyed considerable success performing in bands, duos, and as a solo entertainer for audiences at Weddings, Pubs, Hotels and functions of every kind. He is  always immaculately and suitably dressed for any occasion with a professional but friendly attitude to please any audience, using top quality instruments and sound system at a volume that is pleasant to the ear.

Genres Performed:

John can perform a wide variety of material but specializes in playing the classic hits from the 60's to the present day. He prides himself on playing everybody's favorites songs suitable for every occasion. Audiences rave about his ability to sing Elvis's songs sounding just like the king.

Experience:

John has spent the last 20 years as a performer, singer, lead guitarist, keyboard player and arranger.

Instruments Played:

Guitar, Piano, Bass, Keyboards. (Don't let him near the drums - you'll be sorry!)

History:

John's passion for music began when he and a school friend borrowed a battered old guitar and began learning how to play Elvis and Beatles songs. They spent every weekend practicing and soon mastered not only guitar but also bass and piano. They soon  began composing songs of their own.

After leaving school John worked behind the scenes in the music industry as co-owner, with Ron Drake, of a recording studio and sound company.  After several years concentrating on live sound production and recording work supporting other musicians, John began performing professionally himself in 1989 playing in a Duo with a friend.

By the mid-nineties he was based in Whangarei where he was a member of several bands, notably playing lead guitar and piano in one of the most in-demand Northland bands of the time "Sidewinder". Simultaneously he performed widely as a solo musician under the moniker "Twice Shy" and became a firm favorite in pubs and clubs throughout the North.

John is also a passionate concert-goer travelling regularly overseas to Austrailia and the United States to see his favorite live performers in concert.

Now living in the Waikato John continues to perform and currently performs solo as well as leading the band "The Ringins". He divides his attention between business interests and his music and spends much of his time recording and refining his own backing tracks for his solo performances.
